Scott Huffman

Scott Huffman

Licensed Funeral Director

Scott Huffman was born and raised in Dickinson, ND. He graduated from Trinity High School in 1999 and went on to Dickinson State University where he played basketball.

Scott graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago, in 2005 and shortly after returned to North Dakota to begin his career as a Licensed Funeral Director. Scott and his wife, Miranda moved to Mandan in the fall of 2010, when Scott joined the Weigel Funeral Home staff. Scott joined the staff at Buehler-Larson Funeral and Cremation Service in 2014.

Scott is very appreciative of the opportunity to work with families at a time of need. He wants to be able to help families create a meaningful funeral for every family that he has the opportunity to work with. As each person is different, he believes each funeral should be unique and memorable to every family. Scott also works with granite companies to create a lasting memorial appropriate for each individual, couple, or family.

Scott enjoys staying active playing basketball and softball, and fishing.


Nathan Grubb

Nathan Grubb

Licensed Funeral Director

Nathan joined the staff at Buehler-Larson Funeral and Cremation Service in 2014.

Nathan and his wife, Andrea are natives of Hebron, ND, where they both grew up and attended school. Nathan became a licensed funeral director in 1998 after attending the Cincinnatti College of Mortuary Science and serving a one-year internship with Patton-Schad Funeral Service in Melrose/Sauk Centre, MN.

Nathan and Andrea are the proud parents of four children, Brittan, Aaron, Reagan, and Macy.

Nathan is honored to serve the area communities with sincere and distinctive funeral service.


Jessie Hilfer

Office Manager

Jessie was born and raised in Mandan, the daughter of Don & Valeri Entzel.  She graduated from Mandan High School in 1999. 

Jessie worked as a CNA and also as a personal banker before considering what she could offer to families in funeral service.  Jessie joined the staff at Weigel Funeral Home in 2007.  In 2010, Jessie became the Office Manager at Buehler-Larson Funeral and Cremation Service, working closely with Gary and Patricia Larson. 

Jessie is committed to serving the families of Mandan and the surrounding area.  She is dedicated to helping families personalize a meaningful service for their loved one.  Her compassion, attention to detail, and relationship building with the families in and around Mandan make her a great asset to Buehler-Larson Funeral and Cremation Service. 

Jessie is married to Bill and they have three sons, Kaden, Ryan, and Liam.  In her spare time she enjoys baking, watching movies, spending time with family, and floating in her backyard pool.  


Helen Aaker-Wolf

Helen Aaker-Wolf

Pre-Planning Specialist

Helen Aaker-Wolf joined the staff at Buehler-Larson Funeral and Cremation Service in 2014. With her many years of experience assisting families with their funeral planning, she is a true asset to the funeral home.

Helen was born in Cathay, North Dakota and graduated from Cosmetology School in Jamestown. She is married and has two sons, one step-son, one step-daughter, and seven wonderful grandchildren.

Prior to helping families with their preplanning needs, Helen was involved in apartment management.

In her personal time, Helen enjoys gardening, reading and scrapbooking.


Ruth Przybylski

Griefcare Coordinator

Ruth Przybylski joined Buehler-Larson Funeral and Cremation Service staff in August of 2015. She counts it a privilege to serve alongside our team to help you in honoring your loved one in your own personal way.  Her goal is to serve and assist you with compassion and kindness, knowing that you are probably walking through the most difficult and challenging time of your life. Whether Ruth is assisting you in the office with the details of planning and preparation or reaching out to you after the funeral has passed, she desires to listen and support you through the loss you have experienced.

Ruth was raised on a farm in central Minnesota and graduated from St. Cloud State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Psychology.  She and her husband Jeff enjoy spending time with their two sons and daughter-in-law in Colorado; there is always a new adventure with every visit.  In her spare time at home, Ruth enjoys reading, photography, designing, gardening, flowers, and having coffee with friends.


James Allmer

Part Time Funeral Assistant

James Allmer is a beulah, ND native and has lived in Bismarck since 1983. Jim worked in furniture sales for 25 years. He is married to Sue and they enjoy spending time with their dog, Riley. In his spare time, Jim enjoys attending auctions and rummage sales, biking, walking, fishing, and camping. He has been the maintenance man and Jack-of-all trades for Buehler-Larson Funeral Home since 2002. Jim is dedicated to helping his co-workers make each service go smoothly and works hard to keep the facility and grounds in great condition.

Robert Gaebe

Robert Gaebe

Part Time Funeral Assistant

Robert Gaebe is a lifelong resident of New Salem. He is married to Mary Alice (Dewitz) and together they raised 3 sons and 2 daughters, all graduates of NDSU in Fargo. They have 11 grandchildren.  Robert and Mary Alice were dairy producers most of their lives.  Robert is involved in several civic and service organizations.  He is a part time school bus driver and enjoys gardening and raising a few chickens.  Robert has been a funeral assistant for Buehler-Larson Funeral Home for many years. He is friendly and knows many families in the New Salem and Center communities which makes him a great asset to the staff of the funeral home as well as being a familiar face to the families we serve. 


John Gerding

John Gerding

Part Time Funeral Assistant

John Gerding has been a Mandan resident for most of his life.  He is married to Arlene and they have five adult children.  He is retired from 26 years on the Mandan Fire Department and enjoys volunteering for Meals on Wheels.  John’s friendly and outgoing personality make him a great funeral assistant.  He likes working with the staff at Buehler-Larson and assisting in providing families exceptional service.
