On November 17, 1962 he married June Magelki at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mandan. Bill had a strong work ethic which he demonstrated as he worked as a fireman for the Northern Pacific Railroad, as a guard at the State Industrial School in Mandan, as manager at the Bismarck Auto Dine, and as a Funeral Assistant at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home for many years. Very social and active, Bill was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Mandan and served as an acolyte and on the funeral lunch committee. He was a member of the 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus and Mandan Lions. Giving of his time, he enjoyed helping others. For 15 years Bill was the caregiver for his father and mother-in-law, Joe and Elizabeth Magelki. He liked to do yard work, take walks, and listen to music. A highlight was always spending time with his family and he especially enjoyed Schreiner family reunions.
