irgil Sidney Williams, 58, Mandan, died February 26, 2015 at Sanford Health, Bismarck.

A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Monday, March 2, 2015 at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Virgil was born January 27, 1957 in Lubbock, Texas to Jerry and Ruby (Hoiberg) Williams. His family moved to Killdeer, ND where he started grade school. In 1965 they moved to Mott and he graduated from Milton High School 1976. In 1978, Virgil enlisted in the US Army National Guard and received an honorable medical discharge in 1979. A hard worker, Virgil was a laborer for numerous companies. He had a medically challenged life due to an eye disease and three bicycle versus vehicle accidents. Throughout all of this, Virgil kept his faith and led his life in the name of Jesus. He was always willing to help others for Jesus. Virgil loved music and sports and had an incredible knowledge of both.

Blessed to have shared his life is his brother, Kelvin Mark (Kelly) Williams, Bismarck; sister, Sherry Jean (Wayne) Harkins, Hiram, Georgia; nephews and nieces, Jonathan Mark (Stephanie) Williams, Jordan Michael (Amanda) Williams, Jennifer Katlin Erhardt, Carolynn Marie Erhardt, and Katherine Rose Erhardt; and a great nephew, Ethan Michael Williams.

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and an infant brother and sister.
