Nancy Carol Toman, age 73, Flasher, lost her yearlong battle with cancer on August 20, 2016.
A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the Flasher High School Gymnasium. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Flasher.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, with a prayer service at 7pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the gymnasium.
Nancy was born on January 18, 1943 in Rapid City, SD to John K. and Myrna (Blackmore) Anderson. She graduated from Central High School in Rapid City in 1961. On March 25, 1961 Nancy married Leslie L. Toman. They lived in Rapid City until moving to the Toman farm northwest of Flasher in 1972. Nancy embraced the farm life, especially gardening, driving truck and raising calves and piglets. Nancy drove bus for Flasher Public School for 35 years, retiring in 2015. She enjoyed watching the Flasher Bulldogs sports teams over the years and more recently her grandchildren's sports teams. Nancy was also an avid Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings fan. She had an interest in family history and kept busy doing research.
Blessed to have shared her life is her husband of 55 years, Leslie Toman, Flasher, five children, Amy (Paul) Drees, Grand Forks, Carol Toman, Waterbury, CT, Travis (Crystal) Toman, Bismarck, Nolan (Jenny) Toman, Mandan, Alan (Laura) Toman, Bismarck; and 8 grandchildren, Brett Wasness, Jordan, Emily, Kaitlyn, Brady, Todd, Addison and Morgan
Toman. Also a sister, Marilyn Bernthaler, Omaha, NE and brother, Charles Anderson, Rapid City, SD and several nieces and nephews.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Bryant Anderson.
