Myron Lee Kaelberer, 81, of New Salem, passed away on March 4, 2026, at Elm Crest Manor in New Salem.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Zion Lutheran Church in New Salem with Pastor Zelwyn Heide presiding. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in New Salem. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at church. A time for sharing memories of Myron will be held during the luncheon.
Myron was born May 17, 1944, in New Salem. He was baptized June 18, 1944 and confirmed on April 14, 1957.
Myron loved going roller skating Sunday nights in New Salem and driving around town. Every Sunday, he would be at church handing out bulletins and greeting the people. He loved playing cards with family and friends, butchering with family and neighbors, and going hunting and fishing. He loved making trips to Montana and Wyoming to visit relatives and his trips to Medora with Darrel and Joan. While at Elm Crest, he was busy doing crafts and loved giving his projects to people. He painted rocks and would give them away to the kids who were always appreciative. He loved celebrating his birthday and would plan for it months in advance. He really appreciated the cards he received.
Myron worked for Rolin Manufacturing, Holle Sanitation, Cofer Sanitation, and the City of New Salem. He was a member of the New Salem Fire Department and Central Morton Sportsmen’s Club.
Myron married Mary Martel on May 1, 1979. When Mary passed away in 2020, he moved into Elm Crest Manor in New Salem where he loved visiting with people, keeping busy with crafts, and especially loved the music they provided, especially Jim Geiger from Mandan. He would always put a smile on Myron’s face and made his day.
Myron is survived by his siblings, Darrel (Joan) Kaelberer, Sharilan (Darrell) Repnow, and Joy (Wayne) Doll; along with nieces and nephews, Shon (Brian) Hastings, Darvin (Sally) Kaelberer, Sherre Sattler, Lynell (Dan) Werness, Sharnell Hanson, Darnell Repnow, Nicole (Al) Christian, and Melissa Davis (Braden); and many great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kaelberer; parents, Reinhard and Edna Kaelberer; sister-in-law, Carol Kaelberer; and nephew, Tim Sattler.
The family would like to thank the staff at Elm Crest Manor for the wonderful care he received over the last five years as well as Nicole Christian, who advised and took time at many of Myron’s appointments.
