Marvel Arlene Martin died January 30, 2013 at her residence in Bismarck.
A funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm on Monday, February 4, 2013 at First Lutheran Church, Mandan, with Reverend Jack Carlson officiating. Burial will be at the Beach City Cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Marvel was born September 2, 1949 in Beach, ND to Vincent and Myrtice (Madson) Martin. She lived in Minot, Grafton, and moved to Bismarck in 1998 and worked at Applebee’s and the Drumstick until her retirement. Marvel appreciated her staff from Support Systems, Inc. who assisted her in her apartment. She was active in the senior program at Enable, Inc. and enjoyed her friends and staff there.
Marvel highly valued her family. She was a great pet owner, taking care of her cats and hamsters. She was a huge fan of Elvis and the Beatles and enjoyed other music, eating out with friends, watching television, and taking trips. Marvel will be missed by many who knew her and enjoyed her kindness and sense of humor.
She is survived by her sisters, Doris (Howard) Hines, White Lake, SD and Florence Kasalek, Glendive, MT; brother, David (Catherine) Martin, Anaheim, CA; and aunt, Beatrice Martin, Beach, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dean.
