Loriena Ereth

Loriena Ereth, 87, Mandan, passed away on August 16, 2018, at Sanford Health, Bismarck.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, with Rev. Christina Martin officiating.  Burial will be at the ND Veterans Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7:30 PM on Monday, August 20, 2018, at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, and continue one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Loriena was born September 22, 1930, in Judson, ND, to Louis and Hattie (Albrecht) Scheerle.  She grew up and attended elementary school in Judson and graduated from New Salem High School in 1948.  Following graduation, Loriena worked at JC Penney for three years.  On September 12, 1951, she married Leonard Ereth in Mandan.  After moving to several states for employment, they settled in Mandan in 1956, when Leonard began working at the Amoco Refinery.  To this marriage two sons were born, Clyde in 1954 and Bradley in 1957.

Loriena enjoyed gardening, canning, fishing, and camping.  Her grandchildren were the joy of her life and her great-grandchildren brought her much happiness.  Leonard and Loriena purchased a cabin near Beulah on Lake Sakakawea and enjoyed many years at the cabin with their family.

Leonard passed away in 2008, and Loriena stayed in their home in Mandan until October 2013, at which time she moved to Edgewood in Mandan.

She will be greatly missed by her sons, Clyde Ereth and Bradley (Mary Ellen) Ereth, all of Mandan; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Erna Weigle, New Salem.

Loriena was preceded in death by her husband; her parents and grandparents; sisters, Delora Pfleger, Ina Scheerle, Anita Scheerle, and Verna Giese; and brother-in-laws, Robert Weigle, Ted Giese, and Pete Pfleger.
