Our beautiful loving mother, Loretta Fisher, age 83, of St. Anthony, left this earth surrounded by her children and grandchildren to join her husband Clifford in heaven on November 9, 2013 at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church, Mandan. Burial will be at St. John’s Cemetery, south of Mandan.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 pm on Tuesday, November 12 at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, with a Women of the Moose Ritual at 6 pm followed by a prayer service at 6:30 pm. No visitation will be held at the church.
Loretta was born May 5, 1930 the oldest child to Fred and Caroline (Heupel) Lang in New Leipzig. She attended school in New Leipzig, Elgin, and Mandan. While living in Mandan she met the love of her life, Clifford Fisher, and after only a three month courtship, they were married on March 5, 1948 at First Presbyterian Church in Mandan. Together they farmed on the family homestead at St. Anthony where they raised four children, Gary (Vivian Wright), Mandan, Darlene (Gerald Rebenitsch), Ronnie (JoAnn Shelver), and Darby (Ruthie Netzer), all of St. Anthony.
Loretta was a wonderful cook and always made sure everyone had enough to eat. She was a strong willed woman with a lot of love. She kept her children and grandchildren close to her heart. Loretta never forgot a name or anyone’s birthday or anniversary. She got to hold her newest great grandchild, Riley, who was born only two weeks ago. Loretta was a 40 year member of the Women of the Moose. She loved to read, watch The Price is Right, go to the casino, and travel.
She leaves behind her children; 10 grandchildren, Sandy (John), Wes, Lee (Belinda), Chris (Wesley), Curt (Missy), Dee (Jim), Jared (Sara), Angela (Corey), Brandon (Melissa), and Andrea (Robert); 16 great grandchildren, Crystal, Kaylee (Joe), Coleton, Tyler, Jake, Dylan, Faith, Michaela, Katelynn, Kimberly, Karie, Kayla, Dominick, Braxtyn, Austin, and Riley; 2 great great grandchildren, Jace & Kambree; 3 brothers; and 4 sisters.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Clifford in 1994; infant son, Manuel; daughter-in-law, Vivian Fisher; infant grandson, Wesley Fisher; great grandson, Caleb Geiger; three sisters and four brothers-in-law, Lillian (Glenn) Olson, Mildred Toman, Ellen (Glen) Fisher, Larry Plinies, and Richard Plinies.
