Kenneth Miller, 92, Mandan, died August 8, 2011 at the Medcenter One Living Center in Mandan.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 12, 2011 at Mandan United Methodist Church with Reverend Steve C. Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-7 pm on Thursday at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, and continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Kenneth was born August 23, 1918 in Sanger, ND to John C. and Ethel (Myers) Miller. On July 27, 1938 he married Rose Matz in Bismarck. They made their home in Oliver County where Kenneth was a farm laborer for many years. In 1963 they moved to Mandan where Kenneth worked for Mandan Parks, maintaining the golf course. He was known to say he would never chase that little white ball around, but after time, golf became one of his favorite hobbies. Kenneth retired in 1980. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Moving to the Care Center in 2008, Kenneth enjoyed his many visitors and the friends who would take him to church. Many Sunday’s his room was full of friends and family who stopped by for a visit. A kind man and loveable grandpa who always took time for those he loved, Kenneth will always be remembered. Left with many fond memories is his daughter, Alice Dilger, Center; son, Lloyd (Sandra) Miller, Bismarck; 5 grandchildren, Lori Shinn, Rhonda Lovro, and Michelle, Neal, and Katelyn Miller; 10 great grandchildren, Leslie, Lindsey, and Lloyd James Shinn, Kenneth, Jared, and Belinda Lovro, and Andrew, Mathew, Jaxson, and Desirè Miller; brother, Marvin (Lois) Miller, Mandan; sister-in-law, Janet Miller, Center; and many nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rose; son, Gene; brothers, Ervin and Martin; half-brothers, Henry and Donald; and son-in-law, Christ Dilger.
