John Berreth

March 8, 1962 — April 24, 2015

John A. Berreth, 53, of Bismarck, ND, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2015 at CHI St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 28th at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home in Mandan with Pastor Darrel Aleson officiating. Burial will be held at a later date at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, 1701 Sunset Drive, Mandan.

John was born March 8, 1962 in Bismarck, ND to Ray & Bernie (Mitzel) Berreth. John lived in Napoleon, ND until the age of 7 when his family moved to Bismarck. He attended Dorothy Moses Elementary, Wachter Middle School, and St. Mary’s High School. Following high school, he worked for the Bismarck Tribune for four years and enlisted in the North Dakota National Guard at age 18. John held a full-time position as a Supply Specialist with the National Guard for many years. He retired in July 2006. John married DeAnn Balanga on June 7, 2008 in Bismarck. He enjoyed riding his Yardsport UTV and taking his granddaughters to see “what’s happenin” around the neighborhood.

John will be deeply missed by his wife, DeAnn Berreth of Bismarck; his children, Cody Berreth of Fargo, Amber Berreth of Dayton, OH, Amanda Balanga of Bismarck, & Alisha (Matt) Lundberg of Bismarck; his precious granddaughters, Kara & Karlee; his mother, Bernie Berreth of Bismarck; three brothers, Bob, Lee (Travis), & Mike (Bob); three sisters, Rae (Bern) Eckroth, Lori (Jim) Chase, & Jody Berreth; his father & mother-in-law, Richard & Carol Stack of Bismarck; and many nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father (Ray), brother-in-law (Byron Stack), & an infant grandchild (Baby K.).
