Mandan

Harold T. Burch, age 92, of Mandan, passed away February 15, 2026, surrounded by family and friends at his family home.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Redeemer Lutheran Church of Mandan, with Reverend Joshua Janke officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Bismarck.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan, and continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Harold was born October 27, 1933, to Philip and Ruth (Neuhart) Burch. He attended school in Mandan, graduating from Mandan High School in 1952. After graduation, he worked as a ranch hand and attended teaching college. On April 6, 1958, Harold married Marilyn “Lindy” Bahm and they made their home south of Mandan where they raised their five children. He started his career as a teacher before moving on to the Amoco Refinery where he worked for 29 years. Harold enjoyed camping, fishing trips to Canada, and raising cattle. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing pinochle, and working out at cardiac rehab. Thank you to all of his friends for the joy and richness you added to his life. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa, and friend. Harold will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Harold is survived by his sons, Allen (Lynette) Burch, Sioux Falls, SD and Darold (Lisa) Burch, Bismarck; daughters, Sherry (Rodney) Stork and Karen Burch, all of Mandan; daughter-in-law, Holly Burch, Mandan; five grandchildren, Heather Burch, Brianna Burch, Katelyn Burch, LaNora Burch, and Orrin Burch; 7 great grandchildren; two sisters, Marian Oakland and LaVonne (Darrell) Bahm; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Lindy, in 2016; his parents; mother and father-in-law, Anna and Emil Bahm; his son, James Burch; brother and sister-in-law, Robert “Bob” and Arlene Burch; and brother-in-law, Oscar Oakland.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be donated in accordance with Harold’s wishes.
