Carol Stack

August 30, 1935 — February 11, 2019

Carol Stack, 83, Bismarck, died February 11, 2019, in the comfort of her home.

No funeral services are planned at this time. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on or around Carol’s birthday in August.  Carol and her family would like memorials to be sent to your own favorite charity.

Carol was born August 30, 1935, in Pickardville, ND to Jake and Anna (Pederson) Diede. She was raised in Mercer and attended school there. On August 7, 1954, she married Richard Stack at McCabe United Methodist Church in Bismarck. The two made their home in a house that they built together and have resided there ever since. Carol worked as a typesetter/proofreader for Conrad Publishing, Dakota Printing and retired from United Printing after working there for many years. On the side, she kept all the books for Richard’s construction company.  Carol and Richard hated being cold, so they wintered in Yuma, AZ for 35 years. She was a member of McCabe United Methodist Church and a member of the Women of the Moose Club in Mandan. Carol loved to read and when you couldn’t find her, she was playing games on her computer. She also spent time helping Richard on the family farm.

Blessed to have shared in her life are her daughter, DeAnn Berreth, Bismarck; two granddaughters, Alisha (Matthew) Lundberg, Bismarck, and Amanda Balanga, Bismarck; two great granddaughters, Kara and Karlee Lundberg; and two sisters, Angie Wagner, Bismarck, and Barb Steinle, Bismarck/Yuma, AZ.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Doran, Dale, and Dean Diede; husband, Richard; son, Byron Stack; son-in-law, John Berreth; nephews, Mark and Keith Stack; and niece, Cari Stack.
