Adeline Hillard, 84, Mandan, died March 24, 2014 at Sanford off Collins Care Center, Mandan.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 28 at Buehler-Larson Funeral Home, Mandan. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.
Adeline was born October 25, 1929 in Elgin, ND to Jacob and Olga (Nicklaus) Schatz. She graduated from Mott High School in 1946 and married James Hillard on March 12, 1948 in Billings, MT. In 1953 they moved to Minot and then to Mandan in 1963. Jim died in 1971. Adeline took great pride in her home and was an independent woman. She later worked for Mandan Public Schools as a kitchen aide.
Adeline is survived by her son, Robert (Carla) Hillard; grandson, Sean Hillard; sisters, Dolores Green, Leona Fried, Darlene Sterna, and Betty (Jim) Meyer; and brother, Raymond Schatz.
Adeline was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim; daughters, Gwendolyn and Holly; grandson, Jesse Hillard; brother-in-laws, Wilbert Fried, Fred Sterna, and John Norman; and sister-in-law, Marge Schatz.
