Mildred graduated from Monango High School in ND, where she was a member of the Monango ND State Girls Championship Basketball Team in 1945. On January 8, 1949, she married Victor Fiechtner. Together they farmed in the Monango area from 1949 to 1967. They moved to Turtle Lake, ND in 1968 and lived and worked for Borth’s Department Store through 1971.
