Alice Hoesel

Alice Hoesel, 85, New Salem, passed away on July 25, 2016 at Elm Crest Manor surrounded by her loving family.

A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Friday, July 29, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church, New Salem, with Reverend Russell Fitch officiating. Burial will be at Zion Cemetery, New Salem.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 pm on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church, New Salem with a prayer service at 7 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Alice was born May 31, 1931 in Hannover, ND, the daughter of Rueben and Anna (Bornemann) DeCamp. She was baptized June 14, 1931 and confirmed March 25, 1945 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Hannover. Graduating from New Salem High School in 1949 Alice then moved to Bismarck where she worked at Piggly Wiggly for one year. On September 10, 1950 Alice married Laurence M. Hoesel and they made their home on a farm northeast of New Salem where they raised their five children. After retiring from milking, Alice worked at Elm Crest Manor for 17 years. She was proud to have been instrumental in initiating rural water in Morton County. Alice enjoyed doing hand crafts and working in her flower gardens. Above all, family and service to her church were her greatest love where she served in many capacities.

Blessed to have shared her life is her husband of 65 years, Laurence Hoesel, New Salem; children, Weldon (Ronda) Hoesel, Lidgerwood, ND, Colleen (Randy) Klusmann, Kulm, Bryan (Vicki) Hoesel, New Salem, Kevin (Penny) Hoesel, Hannover, and Lynette Voigt, Bismarck; 13 grandchildren, Juli (Craig) Mauch, Jeret (Stephanie) Hoesel, Jason (Calli) Klusmann, Todd (Cayla) Klusmann, Nathan (Brandy) Klusmann, Sara (Justin) Spickler, Darren Hoesel, Russ Hoesel, Jeremy (Nicole) Hoesel, Shelby (Chad) Finch, and Eli, Ethan, and Abby Voigt; and 24 great grandchildren.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Gordon; son-in-law, Jay Voigt; and granddaughter-in-law, Jennifer Hoesel.

Memorials are preferred to the Lutheran Hour or the American Cancer Society.
